Program (10 ~ 13 years old)
The Koi program is taught with the “Sensei
Says: It’s all about character,” the
best system of martial arts instruction for children
today. This system of martial arts was developed by
Master Sensei Steve Gancherov,
1994 World Shotokan Karate Champion.

This program teaches the young children developing strong
character will lead to their success. "Natural
leaders need the opportunities and challenges to develop
their potential greatness." Sensei Says traditional
Karate and Aikido program
challenges students to succeed and develops the hidden
greatness every human is born with.
Sensei Steve guarantees if your child attends class
consistently and you learn and use the words of character
system, your child's behavior will improve. See testimonials
from other parents and community leaders for examples.
The Koi program teaches very young children the importance
of demonstrating non- violence,
good listening, learning positive use of character words,
and learning of the meaning of these character words
in a fun and creative way. The students are physically
challenged with an obstacle course and
Sensei Says traditional Karate & Aikido techniques.
Basic stances and blocks are introduced, and use of
foam nun-chucks and hitting & kicking shields are
taught in a non-competitive environment.
Children in the Koi program are never encouraged or
taught offensive self-defense techniques against other
children.Sensei Says martial art program uses the teaching
and philosophies by Morihei
Ueshiba, Gichin Funakoshi
and Hidetaka Nishiyama.
