Karate, Aikido and Fun
at the Dojo
Family
Class (All Ages)
The family program is the best way for parents and
their children to share martial arts training together.
Sensei Steve recommends, for the children’s
optimum learning, that the children take part in a
child only class once a week and a family class once
a week.
In the Family class, everyone stretches together,
then the adults work together learning Shotokan Karate
& Aikido techniques and the understanding of the
philosophies and strategies that the great masters
Morihei Ueshiba and Gichin Funakoshi taught. Sensei
Steve shares his direct knowledge from Hidetaka Nishiyama,
and the skill and understanding that won many tournaments
and the world championships in 1994 in Treviso, Italy.
The children are taught with the Sensei Says: It’s
all about character martial arts program..
Testimonial
Dear Steve,
After visiting a number of different martial arts
schools in the South Bay,
I had signed my son up for classes at the South West
Karate & Aikido Center so that he could gain self-confidence,
learn discipline and self-defense. I soon discovered
that Sensei Steve also provided classes that appealed
to me as an adult.
He not only teaches the basics that are the foundation
for traditional karate, but he also balances that
with practical self-defense training utilizing techniques
from different martial arts disciplines. Given the
limited amount of free time in my schedule, I find
that the two hours per week that I spend in these
classes provide the greatest sense of accomplishment,
a good workout, and an opportunity for me to bond
with my son.
