Student of the Month!

I have chosen Ryan to be Southwest Karate & Aikido Center’s Students of the Month.

Ryan has demonstrated an ability to push other martial arts students to better their character, in the dojo and at his school St James. He has shown a true interest in becoming a future sensei by having his own little dojo at home; which his dad and mom helped setup at Ryan’s request.

This is where he teaches his younger brother, his first student. I am also very impressed with Ryan’s responsibility with his martial arts weapons. He is very careful with his Staff, Nun-chuka, and Sai, always careful of other students. He keeps them very clean and puts them in a safe place during class; when he’s not using them.

Ryan entered the talent show competion at his school St James. Ryan then demonstrated Karate and Aikido techniques in front of more than 200 people, by himself! This is a 5 year old. What is next for Ryan? He has the confidence and the character to support his dreams, and make them come true. His parents and younger brother give Ryan a winning edge at what ever he sets his mind at.

It’s magical to see very young members of our community challenging themselves without fear. This is what’s missing in America today. We need more children inspired to demonstrate their pride in positive venues. The future is bright in Ryan’s home and the dojo.

From Ryan's mother:

Thank you again, for yours as well as Kanas show of appreciation at Ryan's St. James talent show.

I hope that this is the information that you requested for your cool slideshow: Ryan is a Kindergartner at St. James Elementary School, Ryan is 5 1/2 years of age.

We really appreciate all of your true devotion to not only to Ryan but to all children. I want to share with you a true testimonial to one of your main teaching's at the dojo, Leadership.

In the first few weeks of Kindergarten, Ryan would complain of a person at his table that was always getting into trouble. Ryan would state that his table was always last in point's because of this persons lack of self-discipline.

So, I had asked him if he would like it if I would approach his teacher? Ryan said with a confident voice "no, Mom thank you, I can take care of this" So, knowing this I asked him the very next day, and Ryan sat up straight in his car seat and said " Mom, I asked that troublesome person to please, be on your very best behavior, that don't you want to win the best table contest? At any rate, Ryan displayed true leadership as in what you teach in each and every class. I hope that this information/story is proof of your great work!

Thank you again,
The Yearley Family
